Castiel stares, transfixed as the smoke rises out of Dean's body. As much of a mistake this is, Sam doing it this way, there is still a flare of hope before it all falls apart.

"No!" he shouts, tightening his grip on Dean's head as he keeps the demon as bound and helpless as he can, pushing with everything he has. It's not going to be enough, not without Sam doing his part.
